The Working Committee on the Annual State Meeting (consisting of Adam Cline, Bill Bartlett, Chris Allen, Kevin Alumbaugh, Michael Haughey, and Tanya Ishikawa) is proposing the 2013 Green Party of Colorado Annual Meeting be held in Highlands Ranch, Colorado (most likely at a library with wifi with no rental charge). The proposed date is Saturday, Aug. 24. The time has not been set but may be from about 9 am to 3 pm. This meeting is for state party business and approval of local chapters, but is not a nominating convention as it is between general election years. Candidates for local, nonpartisan offices (city councils, town boards, etc.) can attend to get support but it is not mandatory. The original annual meeting location of San Miguel County was dropped due to no hosts being available to organize. Former state co-chair Art Goodtimes of San Miguel County agreed that a meeting in that area would be impossible to hold this year. The state bylaws require meeting locations to be selected either at the previous annual meeting or by a council vote. Therefore, the working committee accepted the Douglas County Greens' generous offer to host, and is proposing this vote to council. The agenda for the state meeting will be sent in a separate council vote before the meeting takes place. We will have agreement seeking for one week, July 3 to July 9. After which, the proposal will have passed if no one blocks during the agreement seeking. If there is a block, we will go to a vote for one week (July 10-16). The proper votes for agreement seeking include: Agree, Stand aside, or Disagree (Block). Each local chapter should have four council reps eligible to vote.Thank you, Tanya IshikawaAdams-Jefferson Green Party

I agree. We need to meet and get reorganized. Thanks to Chris Allen and Douglas county for agreeing to host in lieu of San Miguel Greens.

Hello, GPCO Council,The one-week agreement seeking period, which originally began on July 9 when I posted the proposal to the council discussion area, was re-started on July 11 when Bill posted this proposal to the council proposal voting forum. The agreement seeking will now end on Wed., July 17. So far, it looks like we will not have to go to a vote because all votes have been agree. We have had votes from 6 of 8 active chapters (according to my count: Adams-Jefferson-2, Boulder-2, Denver-2, Douglas-1, Pikes Peak-2, Poudre Valley-2), so we have met our quorum requirements. We have not had any votes from the Southwest Greens or the San Miguel Greens. It would be great to get votes from those areas, though they are not procedurally necessary for the proposal to pass. Thanks, Tanya

Thank you, Tanya! I only counted one Denver vote (Aaron Ney), otherwise we have the same totals:  11 total votes, but I have Jim Bullington listed as an Arapahoe Green, not Denver.  I'll see if I can coax the other two into a vote.

Thanks for checking my math, Bill. I thought Jim B. was Denver. So you are right- he is Arapahoe and we have that 7th chapter voting as well.Tanya
