We're collecting agenda items for the meeting next month.  What would your members like to see addressed at the meeting? Please provide some detail, as we cannot cover everything in the limited time we will have.

ThisBernie Sanders thing is interesting and a bit confusing to me and it will be for many Greens who have supported Bernie in Vermont for instance.  We need to have a strategy here.  Ifind that Sanders (Independent from Vermont and actually a democraticsocialist who ran as such to be Mayor of Burlington) represents my ownpolicy choices in National Affairs in about 85 % (guesstimate wise) andabout 70% in foreign policy(I think he is really weak on the Israel/Palestine issue and its direct connection to fueling Wahabism in the Middle East.) This is way above any other US Senatorwith perhaps the exception now of Elizabeth Warren) They are on thesame pages as Greens on many issues. The Democratic Party powers(DLC) willprobably reject Bernie throughout the nomination process just as theyrejected Mike Miles in Colorado (I think this selection process is dominated by the Law Firm of Bernstein etc)  and snookered their choice (Ken Salazar) as "more electable".  DLC always functioned with the McGovern/Dukakis ("lessonslearned") model that you cannot put someone in nomination who can be easily out monied and out propagandized by the Rovian demogogues.  Trouble is that the Green agenda/ Green Narrative re: how we can address our system's destructive greed  and dishonesty cannot be championed and will not be fundedby capitalism-- sold to the American Voting Public as the only system that can provide them with "prosperity/happiness", regardless of whether that means jobs driving trains to Buchenwald (I apply this metaphor to people who design and build nuclear weapons, or any modern weaponry,  favor selling it to Israel, or drill for tar sands oil and deny climate change)..You are right to claim that the Green Party platform is way different from and comes from a different narrative about what is going on than the Republocrat one.    And I would argue that Jill Stein has ten times the guts to stand for that platform than Sanders or Warren.    The question is why her campaign in 2012 and perhaps even now is not capturing the public attention and enlisting their support to "occupy the vote".    Is this another Obama moment where hope springs eternal that the Democrats would restore their honor?  I suspect at St. Louis we will do a lot of thinking about this or hope so instead of fussing about internal grudges and by-laws and such.

WE must have more candidates on the Ballot!  Need a Green vs. Bennet and seven HR candidates to show that we want to support aGreen Progressive  Progressive agenda in DC.  How do we do this??

Part of the annual meeting will be about goals/strategy for the coming year. I'd like recruiting candidates for U.S. Congress to be a significant part of that discussion.

Of course goals and strategies will be part of the meeting.  Discussions on candidates will also be appropriate, though that should be an ONGOING discussion, not one designated simply for the annual meeting.  I've heard some contention about the health care amendment.  Perhaps we should discuss that while we have all leaders present?

ColoradoCare – a comprehensive, universal health coverage cooperative for all Colorado residents – should be of great interest to Greens. My understanding is Denver Greens are preparing a resolution on ColoradoCare. I suggest it be discussed during the Resolutions part of the meeting, currently planned as the first agenda item after lunch.

Sounds great — but there are currently NO agenda items prepared, from what I can tell no work has been done to form an agenda.  I'm sure that if work were being done, I would be included, since I'm on the committee.  If work HAS been happening on the agenda, it should be posted to Committee Board where all members can view and the full committee can discuss. I will also express my support for Bernie Sanders.  I have been hoping for decades (more than I'll admit) that the Dems would pick a candidate like Bernie.  To abandon him now seems does not seem right.  Yes – burdened by the Dem Party, but he is clearly cur from a different cloth.  Yes, his politics are not perfect, but who is (other than me, since I agree with all my positions).  I would like to see Jill do all she can for the Greens, and then before the election ask her supporters to vote for Bernie, unless, of course, she is leading, in which case we ask Bernie to do the same for the Greens.  I would also like to see the Greens reach out to Bernie and make this offer and ask that he work toward IRV.I would like to see more emphasis on the most basic underlying issues, such as money supply (the creation of money out of thin air by essentially private individuals and bank owners), and global warming.More Green candidates, of course, would be great.  Michael HaugheyAJ Greens

I would like to talk about a merchandise page on the website and what we would like to make available.  I have some t shirts that I had made several years ago and there was discussion about a new t shirt design a couple of years ago.  I will bring the shirts I have so maybe we can sell a few to get some money for the next batch.  We're out of hats but I can bring one from the last batch.  Bumper stickers? Buttons?I'm sure I can get Liz to ad the page but we should talk about how we want it to look and if we are going to allocate some funds to make more merch.Kevin Alumbaugh

Kevin, the agenda has pretty much been wrapped up.  We will be having discussion in the afternoon about strategy, etc.  Our biggest impediment at this point for merchandise is funding.  We need to engage people to staff a fundraising committee.  I think ideas about merchandise are certainly welcome, but we may want to have committee work first.  Are you interested and/or able to serve on a committee to work on either of these?  And btw, I have one of those hats.  They're awesome.

I understand Laura.  Yes I would be interested in participating in a fund raising committee.  I will try to find a new source for hats before the meeting and the committee can work on the t shirt design.Kevin

It would be nice if someone listed the candidates running for Green Party State & National offices, which could include both the officials within the Green Party and those representing the Green Party on the public ballot.  It might even be nice to show the video of the present Green presidential candidates.  I think it would be nice if the Greens know how many and who the candidates are instead of just what the media has told us about the Dems & Rep.  Of course it would be good to know about past and future experiences from our Green CoChairs & other officers too.  I don't really think too much time should be spent on other party representatives; although I guess I have a few City Council members in the Dems in Broomfield & Lafayette I am excited for if we are going to do this.  It does seem like our time as Greens might be better spent brain storming about having Green candidates and why we don't.  I think it is more than the power of the 2 party.  Could it be a lack of support for new and current members.  What kind of support would motivate running in order to give the party exposure, even at the high risk of not winning?  I also think it would be good to start way ahead of an election and have pairs attending city council, state house & other meetings, so that we all get a feel of the procedure and issues established at these meetings.
