MemberGood morning everyone! I've been wanting to get a discussion going about the different cannabis proposals that we could be voting on this November. It seems that all the signatures are in and there will only be one to discuss this fall. I am personally wary of Amendment 64, but I think it is a good way to open the door to bringing some justice to the people that are being discriminated against for their use of a medicinal, religious, and recreational herb. Does anyone have any feelings on this Amendment one way or the other? Do we have any takers on co-sponsoring a proposal that would officially endorse this bill? The CARE response to A64 brings out some of the concerns that I've had, and details many more. These are changes being made to our state constitution, and as much as I would like to see cannabis laws lifted, I would not want it done in a way that would jeopardize people or give more fodder to the judiciary to rule against cannabis rights. Attached are 2 files: the A64 text and the CARE response / concerns.

MemberI don't think it would be good for the Green Party to support Amendment 64 because it is so deceptive. Many people are going to think that they are voting to make Marijuana and hemp legal and the amount of people that get into vulnerable positions may certainly be problematic. I should hope it would not end up contributing to the growing prison profits of today. Also I have a question. Doesn't THC stay in your system for a long period of time, even when it is not affecting your senses & if this is true, how will people be able to drive to work without worrying about being stopped & tested? I am against the bill. What would it take to have the Green Party sponsored a good bill for cannabis?
