MemberThe state leadership have been working on a few projects and I haven't done a good job of making sure everyone is up to speed on these things. I'm going to be issuing some proposals soon, and I'd like to make this discussion thread a base for moving these forward officially. The first is the issue of booth materials. In previous years we had relied heavily upon Victor (Forsythe) for tables and chairs. During the 420 Rally many of our materials were lost. (We can discuss the details of that on an aside). In the end, we lost the tables, the canopy, and some of our handouts as well. We got great exposure, but we did suffer a loss. With the People's Fair coming fast, Laura replaced that gear with new stuff for the party. Here are the expenses she incurred. The totals include printed materials for the March Against Monsanto Rally and the People's Fair. $ 37.00 insurance $ 33.08 copies $ 35.06 copies $193.66 tables/canopy $298.80 TOTALBOOTH MATERIALS TODAY! *EXCITING*I don't know if everyone saw pictures of our booth from the People's Fair but we are ROCKING IT now. Laura has really built our presence at events to something we can be PROUD OF!!! We have matching tables (plenty of space) and a nice balcony to provide shade and protection. Very professional!! ( I've attached a picture of our booth... Bring your own chairs! ) Our printed materials have also been cared for and cultivated over time. Meaning, we have digitals of everything, and it seems to cost about $40 to print a bunch of stuff for a given event. There's a process in place. THANK YOU LAURA and everyone who has helped grow our event presence to where it is today. Thoughts, comments, and criticisms about these decisions are welcome.I'll be drafting a proposal to have Laura reimbursed for her expenses, and hope to iron out any conflicts here first.

MemberThank you, Bill!! I appreciate the feedback and support. And just so everyone knows, we still have some material for handout. I gave a couple of members extra copies at the March Against Monsanto rally so they would have them for future distribution. And just to clarify, the insurance amount was for the Fair itself, an added expense that was requested subsequent to our application. I went ahead and paid for it at the time.(PS: And I love the pic with me in the background getting an awesome chair massage from Michelle!)

MemberDid the booth raise any money? Did it get some people to sign up??

MemberIn response to Bob… Yes, we took in $50. Michelle brought her massage chair on Sunday and helped bring in at least half of that if not more. We got a number of people who signed up. Andrea took the names and I believe was adding them to the GPCO mailing list. And possibly a volunteer or two. We had some very good dialogue with a number of folks (and some challenging ones with a Libertarian or 2). One young woman, not registered to vote, stopped by from the We Are Change booth, to borrow a marker. We talked a bit and I gave her some information. I had information displayed (using your message from I think 2 years ago) voting today by registering to vote. That young woman came back later and told me she stopped at the Democratic Party booth and registered to vote – as a Green. (Damn, I love that story.) I've attached the page I had displayed so you can see it.
