This is a test poll in honor of the lawsuit pending against the State.  If you need more info before casting your vote, here's the link: http://www.gazette.com/articles/lawsuit-122418-state-district.htmlThis also shows how we can have a debate about a poll.  I've setup this poll to allow changing of your vote, and to let everyone see how we all stand as votes come in.

thanks for this model, bill. it shows us how we could have poll our group on lots of issues. and the polling could be with the entire group, not just a representative council. that would certainly make members feel more empowered. i love the poll idea…

Excellent! I can see a definite advantage in polling both informally and formally.  This can drive our platform decisions and where the state party chooses to focus its energy.  I will make a topic for poll submissions, so we can start building a nice topic database for when we hit the ground officially with the forum.

Yes, the polls are a good quick visualization of where we stand.

Looks like i'm taking this poll seriously and no one else is, probably because it was meant to be a nice example of how useful this polling feature is, however….  😉 the reason i only voted Below Average instead of Substandard is because i think it's unfair to ask the states to fill in the gap between what's needed and what the Fed chooses to give to education out of all the taxes we pay them!

no, i think many of us who voted (like myself) felt that our state is low in educational funding, just as we are almost last in the nation in cultural funding. it's a serious matter.but the overwhelming defeat of the recent initiative to fund education here in colorado (103 was it?) has made everyone realize that this downturn is hurting a lot of people, and government has to learn to do more with less, not ask for moreand when half of our annual taxes (and who knows what offshore millions) goes to fund the military/intelligence arm of amercia's international commercial alliance -- the "free world", if you will -- as in saudi arabia, israel, afghanistan, iraq -- what can you expect but inadequate funding for social programs.

Seems like an issue far beyond juste Colorado.  Nationally and maybe internationally there seems to be an effort to provide only the education and indoctrination required by the large international corporations, and even to privatize that to have yet another place to drain wealth from all but the wealthy to the already wealthy.  So in addition to funding there are issues of curriculum, who controls it, and who teaches and under what constraints.Michael H
