MemberThe Convention Committee has been tasked with agenda collection…Credentialingi'd like credentialing of chapters, new and old, as one of our first agenda items. that's always pro forma at green conventions (i was chair of the credentials committee on the national level in the '90s)i'd imagine credentialing of chapters would immediately precede roll call of chapters for quorum and roll call of unaffiliated members at the convention.

Memberlooking at the agenda from our last state meeting, i think 1-5 seem fine — someone else perhaps should do the invocation this time…since i will have to leave the meeting by noon to attend my other function, i'd like nomination of candidates for local and state races next as #6... that would be me and gary swing, at this point, right? since we don't have contested candidate races for that local and state race, it can be a simple vote (either agreement-seeking or modified robert's rules)then i'd like to have a selection of candidate for national races -- probably someone speaking for each of the four current candidates, and then an IRV vote on the presidential as item #7then, depending on how long those six or seven take, it might be time for a lunch break... when i would have to leave#8 could be review of the year's past council actions#9 could be a review of where we are on restructuring and the forum / bill reporting and i would try to have a short paperdo we have to re-elect state officers at this convention????and after that it's optional whatever folks want to do... but we will have completed our required business, no?within four days we will need to get certifications of candidates to the secretary of state and to my county clerk in san miguel county.

MemberHey Team,I threw together a letter requesting convention agenda items intended for the the GPCO locals. I plan on sending it out in the next day or two. Let me know if you have any suggestions or additions. Also, I set up a simple form for collecting RSVPs at convention.gpco.org. It is mentioned in the letter. Any thoughts on this method of collecting RSVPs?(See attachment).

Memberi concur with Bill, good job on the letter. can we also send along a draft agenda, as we have it so far, noting that it's only a draft? also, as i commented on the site Jonesy set up for the working draft, do we want an invocation as we had last time to start. and don't we need to review and approve Council decisions since our last state meeting — in this case the convention committee creation?finally, bill, can we merge the thread that eric started elsewhere with this thread. shouldn't be two discussions so closely related, as it will confuse folks visiting here...i'm hoping that all greens will be able to visit the Convention Committee thread and read, if not input. if they want to input, they need to see jonesy's agreement to be on the committee...

MemberThe letter has been sent to the GPCO Council List and the GPOC [sic] Discuss list. Should I send this out to anyone else? I did add a review of council activity to the agenda.

Memberthanks for adding the review of Council actions, as required by our Bylaws/P&G. i think sending it to the council and asking them to forward to chapter members and to the discussion group is sufficient.
