From email sent today…  [sent to Denver Greens, GPCO co-chairs, chapter co-chairs I know of]Dear Fellow Greens:I have been out of touch for a bit, so I apologize.I was talking with Victor a bit ago and he said he had attended a meeting with the Move to Amend group.  Was sharing how amazed he was so many Democrats are getting disillusioned and considering Green.I joined a Meetup group the other day, Progressive's Book Club (http://www.meetup.com/Progressives-Book-Club/).  When I introduced myself online I indicated I had left the Democratic Party and was now an active member of the Green Party because of the 10 Key Values.  One of the founders, Dia, said she was maybe going to do likewise. On the bus a while back, I was talking with an older gentleman who was on oxygen and wearing a cap that said "Veterans for Peace".  Here in Denver, that group meets at the Mercury 3rd Wednesday of each month.  Victor and I talked about going to their next meeting. At the last anti-GMO/Monsanto rally here in Denver, I handed out half-sheet flyers right and left telling people the Green Party is the only party that would stand up to Monsanto.  Many people happily took the information. My point - there are a lot of non-party groups (and activities) we can and should reach out to who share similar values and whose members probably are registered Democrats, or at least a good portion of them.  (The Vietnam vet on the bus the other day was registered an Independent but voted Green.)  We don't have to create all of the events - many are out there already. We need to reach out to both registered Greens AND work to identify Democrats/Independents we can try to recruit to register Green and/or join us in our efforts. The disillusionment is growing faster and more significantly.  This is a great opportunity for the Green Party to be heard.  And a good message to share with registered Greens who may not be voting.I'm putting this out there for consideration, to generate discussion and ideas, work to hopefully get some state wide (chapter-specific) plans, ideas, or recommendations initiated/drafted.  2014 election will be here before we know it. If your local chapter is already working on outreach, let us know.  Share your insight, information, and hopefully successes!(Please forward to anyone else you know of who is involved or interested in this topic.)Thank you!Peace,Laura ClarkCo-Chair GPCO Outreach CommitteeTreasurer, GPCOCo-Chair Denver GreensTreasurer, Denver Greens
