MemberGood morning everyone! In the interest of moving things forward, I would like to sum up what the findings of this committee have revealed. I have inquired with experienced parties at the state level and they agree with Ryan's detailed analysis of the laws in Colorado concerning campaign finance. Many of our locals are not properly registered with the state. Even if they are not taking in funds, all political parties must register with the state and provide reports to that effect. By Saturday, March 16th, I am asking committee members to state their final positions. Michael, I understand you have disagreements with the state's interpretation of the laws. If this is still the case, I encourage you to seek the written response from the state that could move your case forward. Ryan's detailed notes from his inquiry, in addition to my personal research, have made it clear to me that many of our locals are in violation of state law. I hope we can come to agreement on this. Either way, we should bring this to a vote of the committee. Once this debate is over we will move our energy into efforts that will bring each of our current locals into compliance with the state. I have a treasurer lined up for Adams/Jeffco who is willing to represent several locals in this capacity.I would like to formally motion that this committee stand behind Ryan's findings so we can move forward with solutions. Can we have an AGREE / DISAGREE / STAND-ASIDE from committee members by Saturday? Thank you everyone!(The debate details are can be found under this thread: http://gpco.fullydefiant.com/forum/index.php?topic=129.0)(Bumped and announced on Monday, March 18, 2013 due to lack of response.)
