If you haven't heard of this amendment.. here's a link to their site: http://raisethebarco.com/learn-more/This strikes me as something very indicative of a top-down power grab.  The Community Rights Amendment would be that much more difficult in a state that "Raised the Bar" against grassroots campaigns that would change the Constitution (Amendment 20 and 64 anyone?  TABOR?)  Arn Menconi has heard about this out in the field, and is getting a lot of positive support as he stands against it and educates people about their current grassroots power. I'm drafting a proposal and would like input from the council.  Insights, background, opposition, cosponsors?

My understanding is that this would make a certain number of signatures from every “???” (precinct, county, ???).  Not sure of the local divisions.  At any rate, it would appear to result in only initiatives that are very well funded, and perhaps only conservative initiatives since a minimum number of signatures appears required from even the smallest rural area.Does anyone have details on this?I think we should oppose it.Michael HaugheyJC Greens

I'll do the drafting of the proposal on this.  Does anyone want to supply some pro's and con's?  Alternatives to our opposition to the amendment?
