A Green Party member in Boulder County wrote, “Been trying to register for the GPCO state discussion forum, open to registered Greens, for 2 days UNSUCCESSFULLY!  Message says forum registration has been disabled! WTF?” She clicks the "Register for the State Discussion Forum" link on the home page, fills in her information and gets the response, "Your response has been recorded."Then she clicks the "Forum Login" link on the home page. A login window is displayed that requires her to either enter a password (which she does not have) or register an account. Clicking "register an account" results in the error message, "Sorry, registration is currently disabled." It appears to be impossible for registered Greens in Colorado to join the state discussion forum.Harry Hempy

Hi Harry!  This is not a "problem" it is a feature.  Somehow the member in question didn't see their welcome email to the forum, or the "Forgot Password" link. The only reason this member noticed they couldn't access the forum was because I sent out a Newsletter to all members of the forum announcing some activity there.  I just sent out an email reminder to everyone on the forum explaining how to access it and where to find some help navigating it.  I haven't poked around those beginner forums in a while, but I think the information there is all still valid.

The feature/problem in detail: The Forum is open to Registered Greens only, and is disabled for the general public. There is a manual process >> Registration occurs through our GPCO website, users are verified as Green, their accounts are created, and they are notified.  This member may have had an unusually long registration delay.  🙁  The problem isn't the system, its not having enough staff to make the system run effectively.

Speaking if which, I'd like to see you come back to the Website Committee!

Bill, I don't remember leaving the Website Committee. Minutes of the Website Committee Meeting held 10/19/13 list the committee members as Bill Bartlett, Michael Haughey, Harry Hempy, and Andrea Merida. If this is incorrect, please document the committee members. The Website committee had no activity between Dec. 17, 2013 and April 13, 2015. To make GPCO committees more effective I will propose to the strategic planning group that at least one chair (preferably two) of each committee not also be a state party co-chair.  With respect, I think you have been wearing too many hats and party leadership needs to be broadened.

The member in question is my wife, Sally Hempy, a registered Green. I've diagnosed further and here is what I have found:1. SallyHempy is a registered user name in the forum.2. I cannot send her a personal message from the forum.     a. When I try to send to user "SallyHempy", the response is, "User 'SallyHempy' can not receive messages."    b. When I try to send to "sallyhempy@gmail.com", the response is, "Unable to find member 'sallyhempy@gmail.com'."3. Sally does not have a Welcome letter to the GPCO Forum in her email (and I suspect has never received a welcome letter). So she does not know her password.4. The response she receives to clicking "Forgot your password?" and supplying her user name, "SallyHempy", is the message, "A mail has been sent to your email address. Click the link in that email to set a new password."5. The email never shows up.Hopefully, these facts will point to the problem, which could include a human error in the manual process. Or Sally may have mistyped her email address when registering.I suggest checking her email address on the forum (I don't know how to do that). It needs to be 'sallyhempy@gmail.com'.

The strategic planning group will be looking at staffing requirements for state party functions/committees.What do you recommend on staffing needs for the Website Committee?

Kudus to Andrea Merida. Thank you for checking Sally's email address on the forum and correcting it. Sally is able to login now.
