MemberActually, I don't think it has, Bill. There have been many calls for amendment on this thread. Let's revisit this. The original proposal was for support of a bill that has failed in the legislature. I don't think we want to look like we don't pay attention.

MemberHmmm.. there WAS a lot of parsed discussion. Shoddy facilitation on my part. 😀 I was noting the consensus for the amended proposal in support of HB15-1300 only, but there has also been a call to support the rally itself, or the $15/hr movement. Since this is my proposal, I'm willing amend it to support the $15 Minimum Wage movement AND in support of local control of minimum wage. I'll post a link to a new thread for final agreement. Thank you Andrea! I'll split off this topic and start a fresh vote.

MemberWanted to point out that HB 15-1300 failed as well. I will be making a proposal to support the upcoming Community Rights ballot initiative, which is the restart of Initiative 75. It would cover what 1300 wanted to do.I am also submitting a proposal to endorse 15 Now Colorado, who are bringing a ballot initiative to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour in Colorado, plus allow municipalities to raise as they see fit.

MemberI would support that proposal for 15Now.

MemberI should think you got a green light Harry.

MemberI agree that we should not waste time on a bill that failed in the Senate, but I see no reason CGP should shrink from c0- sponsoring rallys around the issue of $15 an hour or any similar efforts to show public support of the general concept of a major increase in minimum wage. There shouldn' t need to be a lot of discussion and I don't think Harry should even have had to ask if it was OK. Somehow we have got to get a quicker response out on these major Occupy issues.

MemberBob, I've been thinking GPCO should create a legislative action committee to work on state issues. I would be willing to co-chair.

Membergreat idea. I would serve as well. But I really think that a Colorado Green Party Platform on all issues would free up locals and candidates to issue statements on current events and hold up that platform as it relates to them (including co-sponsoring events like the one you requested in early April re: $15/hr.
