Memberdisagreemaking it more difficult for new Green Party members to vote at our annual meeting goes against all the past inclusive policies of the Green Party of Colorado for the 18 years i've been a memberart goodtimessan miguel greens

MemberDisagreeThis is moving the Colorado Green Party toward being a most un-welcoming party. It also sets a double standard: 90 days now to apply only for the current "administration", 180 days after the state meeting. Going from same day registration to 180 days is a drastic move that will have negative consequences. While over 8 chapters have weighed in, The wording must be changed to reflect the fact that a quorum is a MINIMUM of 60%. 7 chapters is 58.33% and does not meet the minimum. Therefore a quorum requires 8 chapters. The "Exceptions" have not been defined. What are the excepted groups allowed to do, or how are they counted. What is the purpose?

MemberMichael is absolutely correct. The GPCO state council has never rounded down for a quorum always up. There is no other option because to round down results, as in this case, to be less than 60% plain and simple. I was council facilitator for 5 years and I can assure council members this has always been proper procedure. Quorum is this case is 8 chapters.

MemberFolks, if you're ok with 7 for Harry's proposal, you have to be ok with 7 for other proposals as well.12 x .6 = 7.2Either way, the point is moot, because we are well beyond either number.Kevin, please vote.Thank you.

MemberOur local chapter had a lengthy discussion on this issue last night and while we all agreed that we must do more to preserve the integrity of our Ten Key Values to avoid being co-opted by Democrats or liberal Greens who think like Democrats, we could not agree on the 90 day requirement for 2017 or the increase to 180 days for 2018 onward. All members thought 180 days was excessive and that we need more time this year as May 12th is coming up very quickly. We do understand the reasoning behind this proposal and would be on board if the requirements for both 2017 and 2018 were reduced. For this reason, our chapter casts a vote of Disagree.

MemberOk folks, the voting is now closed.Agree/Yes: 15 (68%)Disagree/No: 7 (32%)Total votes: 22Proposal passesI understand from Poudre that there will be another proposal coming forward to deal with the longer voter registration term after the state meeting. Their intent is not to punish those chapters like Pikes Peak who are working hard to recruit new Greens via activism as opposed to voter registration drives alone. I can tell that the work is paying off, and it's a great local decision. We ARE the electoral tactic for grassroots movements, after all.I'll let this ride for a couple days to make sure everyone has a chance to review the results, and then I'll ask Sean to update the bylaws. Thanks to everyone for participating.
