MemberActually, I don't think it has, Bill. There have been many calls for amendment on this thread. Let's revisit this. The original proposal was for support of a bill that has failed in the legislature. I don't think we want to look like we don't pay attention.

MemberSo, the minimum wage at $12.50 bill died today. Didn't even clear the first committee: http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_27821119/colorado-minimum-wage-vote-bill-dies-lack-twoIt looks like the municipal wage setting bill is going to get some traction.I would like to reiterate my initial proposal to put this on hold until we now what's going to happen. Those of us involved with 15 Now Colorado are going to for sure run a citizen's initiative, and I would request your official endorsement then.

MemberThank you. Looking forward to the other thread.

MemberBill, you and I have been talking about NB and CiviCRM on and off since I joined. I am at a loss to hear you misrepresent my interest level in this way.I'll look for the new thread. We all need communication about what's going on with NB anyway.

MemberI need an idea of what will be functional for launch. What will we be able to do or not do with Nationbuilder by launch time? What are the plans for it? Who will maintain? What is the process for updating? What will be the rules for chapters to use the state database? We are all incorporated as individual entities, and we may have to follow certain campaign finance rules. Will we be charged something for its use? Thanks.

MemberI would support a narrow scope in this proposal, that we endorse the concept of local control over minimum wage.
Andrea Mérida Cuéllar
MemberI oppose. I have offered to create a plan and materials, and my colleague in Adams-Jeffco has not responded. I don't believe in spending money for a “presence” without Nationbuilder up and running and with no real objective. Additionally, unless we have firm commitments to staff the booth, I am not in favor of Laura Clark having to do all the heavy lifting on her own, just because she lives nearby.I am willing to change my vote if a real plan can be made.

MemberI would propose holding off on this for now. Sean Friend (the Arapahoe Co-chair) and I are steering committee members of 15 Now Colorado, and we will be putting a citizen's initiative on the 2016 ballot to raise to $15, not $12.25 over 4 years like the legislative action would propose. It would be more strategic for us to endorse the ballot initiative, not just an amorphous idea without roots that doesn't exist in real organization yet. The only real proposal right now is the $12.25 over 4 years.Has Sean been added to this forum? He's a co-chair.

MemberI think that's also a good idea. I'm just opposed to going to table with no real objective.I also think that we need to focus on our infrastructure, otherwise this will be a waste of money and time.
Andrea Mérida Cuéllar
MemberNow we're onto something. Do we have a candidate running against Thurston Bennet III yet, though?
Andrea Mérida Cuéllar
MemberSo wait…We have $2600 but haven't gotten NationBuilder off the ground yet?Think about it: we want to table at some wide open net events, and even if we take down some info for potential volunteers and new members, we'd have no where to warehouse that information.Comrades, please. Can't we put our resources toward building an infrastructure? We can't keep doing things off the cuff like this. It's inefficient and ineffective.

MemberJust adding in my comments from the email thread:Can we get an idea of what we hope to accomplish there? What is our purpose and message for being at either event? Do we have enough volunteers to cover it?What I would want to see is that we're coming away with something tangible...voter registrations, donations, email list sign ups...something. Otherwise it could be a big waste of money, which we might instead put toward outreach to current Greens to build the chapter and draw from a larger volunteer pool later.Honestly, if it's just going to be Laura and one other person at the table all day, I'd rather not.Nor would I want just any volunteer. They'd have to be people willing to stay on message and not go off on tangents to promote side issues not approved by us or talking about how the Greens can never win. Thanks for listening.
Andrea Mérida Cuéllar
MemberMaybe you can set a priority for us, according to your plans.

MemberI wouldn't want it as a pdf that I have to download and open, hopefully if my smart phone has a pdf reader. Better to use an email interface, like MailChimp, where we can have html emails.
