MemberThank you all for your confidence in me, as well as in your willingness to send a working-class Latina and daughter of immigrants to bring forth your voice as we grow the party nationally.Going forward, please keep my contact info on hand, so I can stay in constant contact with you.Personal email: andreamerida@gmail.comPhone: 303-550-0677Address 1271 W. Gill Place, Denver, CO 80223I'm "hyperactive" on Facebook at http://facebook.com/andreamerida and less so on Twitter at http://twitter.com/andreameridaI'm also extremely psyched about working closely with Bob Kinsey, our esteemed current delegate. I'm sure he has a lot to teach me.Again, thanks, all. This is an honor.

MemberIf the Green Party of CO makes a proposal on this issue it could follow US Greens &/or encourage a proposed bill supported by Rep Lee, to pull the US military support completely away from Israel, HR 105.
I could not agree more wholeheartedly with Susan's statement. In fact, the GPUS statement begins, "WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Green Party of the United States is calling for an immediate ceasefire in the current exchange of missiles between Israeli and Palestinian forces, negotiation for a just and peaceful resolution to the conflict, an end to Israel's occupation of Palestinian Territories and human rights violations, repeal of apartheid policies in Israel, and establishment of one democratic state for all in Israel-Palestine."They aren't calling out religion at all. See more: http://www.gp.org/newsroom/press-releases/details/4/721Could we retool our statement so it aligns more closely with national's?

MemberWhich religion sanctions the killing? Please cite chapter and verse of the respective texts.Where is the conclusive proof that this current strife is due to religious fervor?I want to support a document that pleads for peace of all stakeholders involved, without making assumptions about religious motive. Consider that many of the aggression are committed by people who profess no religious creed at all.The American Presbyterian church has passed doctrine to divest all its investments from Israeli-held companies. See http://www.nytimes.com/2014/06/21/us/presbyterians-debating-israeli-occupation-vote-to-divest-holdings.htmlI've now offered three examples of religious leadership calling out the issue. Does the core motivation of this document still pass muster?I'm with Laura. There are cultural and economic issues wrapped up in this too. I say that if we can't issue a document that deals with at least those three catalysts, we will look naive and anti-religious. I realize that many of you are atheists, but not all progressives are atheists. We run the risk of alienating very good people by not issuing a more balanced statement.

MemberSorry…I meant to “set this document aside” until we can really flesh this out and have everyone's voice in this.Respectfully, to make this about religion is to play into stereotypes and to show how the religious world is already speaking out against this.To wit:http://nkusa.org/My spiritual leader: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/07/18/pope-francis-israel-palestine-gaza-ceasefire_n_5599268.htmlIt's a little strange, in my opinion, to (a) tell religious people what to do if one is not themselves religious and (b) release a statement to chastise religious "silence" when in fact, there is much being said and done.

MemberI move to set aside as written. (we do need a statment, however)

MemberFurther as to why I don't agree:Eight Key Value:8. RESPECT FOR DIVERSITYWe believe it is important to value cultural, ethnic, racial, sexual, religious and spiritual diversity, and to promote the development of respectful relationships across these lines.By making this about religion and not focusing on the economic catalyst here, we aren't showing respect for religious diversity.

MemberI do not agree. Here is why:
- This is about neoconservative expansionism on behalf of American neoliberals.
- We are not dealing with equally-matched adversaries here.
- There are plenty of secular people pushing the aggression. The fact that some are Jews or Muslims is incidental.

MemberIt does; thanks. In this case, she would be running against a known bankster who has facilitated legislation to impact foreclosures all over the state. It might make sense to have the state consider endorsing her, which would help her from a fundraising perspective. Let me know how we could clarify whether this would be a state option. Thanks.

MemberI can take a shot at it.

MemberI definitely would like to talk about a couple of things:
- blog post workflow/timelines
- a "ticket" system in which we all share the duties of making updates to the site
- SEO strategy, if any
- how we can support the social media group
Thanks! And I appreciate the next meeting being a teleconference.
