MemberIt really is great to mingle with Greens from across the state. I particularly enjoy hearing about the issues that important to our locals, the different and the similar. It couldn't have been done without a lot of work from Jonesy and Dan, and personally from Eric. Great to have a focused and motivated team. Let's keep this momentum!

MemberYes, I was talking with my wife (she's a Green) and we're thinking a motel would be a good idea, too. Is it just you, or are you bringing your family?

MemberHi Tanya! Jonesy recently set us up on RideShare.us to help people coordinate riding. I haven't checked it out yet but I wanted to pass the word. http://gpcoconvention.weebly.com/arriving.htmlThanks for passing around some lodging prices. I haven't even started planning my own arrangements. :/

MemberI've received replies from Dr. Mesplay and Dr. Stein. Kent says he may be able to make an appearance personally (that would be awesome) while Jill's campaign says she is obligated that day already but they are going to work on getting a representative there and a video. I'll keep us posted on this as it develops.

MemberWe can make changes to people who already have login names at another time (maybe at the convention?) From this point on, the registration of new members will be done by the admin who will assign the login/password to the council member as they become part of the forum, along with the proper permissions. This also gives us the opportunity to train the new member or give them some kind of quick start guide to the forum. As for remembering the login name, it will never be an issue if its firstinitial.lastname for everyone, then no one will ever have a hard time remembering their login and we will avoid a lot of the confusion. This is a process of learning for everyone. We'll sort the bumps out over time.

MemberHi everyone! I've moved the RTF discussion to the Committee Board. Also, I have researched the issues about oldest or newest threads being displayed first. This is an individual option. 🙂 For me, I am used to seeing the oldest stuff at the top. For those interested in seeing the newest posts first, there is an option in your profile preferences that will make this a reality: To show the most recent posts at the top: 1. Click on Profile to see your Summary page, revealing three menu options: Profile Info, Modify Profile, and Actions.2. Under the Modify Profile menu, select Look and Layout3. Choose the option "Show most recent posts at the top."(taken from http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?topic=37)This information has been copied to a thread under the Using the Forum.

MemberThe letter reads well, and the drop page looks good!! Good job, Jonesy!

MemberI'd rather have you post than not!! No confusion, but an added understanding of the hurdles we're looking at when moving everyone into this style of communication. Thanks Eric!

MemberYou're right Jonesy, this is a little confusing. I appreciate that you've taken the time to put it as simply as you have. I feel that it may be easier to round up the fractions, unless we feel this will drastically impact the results of the contest I think we could settle for that. However, if the added complexity of using the largest remainder method provides results that more accurately reflect the will of the voters, than I think we can handle the extra math. 🙂 As for the voting, I kinda like the Iowa caucus idea, since it could lead to some interesting discussions on the back end about what drew each of us to a specific candidate. If handled in a nonviolent and communicative manner, this input could help the candidates' campaigns understand what different members of the Green Party are looking for.

MemberI sent you back an email, but I'll post me reply here for everyone to see: "I think avoiding the Skype is a good idea. It could be a logistical nightmare with little real benefit. If the candidates want to send a representative, along with a video, I think that would be OK too. This would allow people to ask some questions of the rep and still have the opportunity to see and hear the candidate themselves. 20 minutes sounds very reasonable to me. "

MemberI think its just so people can read through the discussion naturally.. If there are new posts to a thread, there is a “New” link next to the thread name which, if clicked, takes the reader to the latest posts on the thread. I'm not sure if this option can be changed, but I'm not particularly shy about trying something different if its possible. 🙂
Bill Bartlett
MemberThat sounds good to me, too. Although I don't know him personally, this will be a nice way to change that!
