I love it, I'd like to be a cosponsor on this bill!  Shout it from the mountaintops!

Susan, that's just the kind of addition I was thinking about.  YOU HIT IT ON THE HEAD.  Thank you! !

That is an interesting interpretation, if somewhat abstract.

    AGREE

“Council is not charged with steering policy. That role belongs to the members of the Green Party at its annual meeting.”Could you explain this statement Harry?

Agree. I was a little hesitant about making these changes, but we need some ways for the state to at least give guidance to new (and existing) local chapters about how they operate and how they might be expected to perform. The reason we used the phrase "good faith effort" is to keep it open to interpretation.  We could play with the language but the intent is that we would like local chapters to be doing their best at things like increasing voter registration, doing fundraisers, supporting candidates, maintaining balance in leadership roles, etc..

(e.g. Treasurer’s Report)

in reply to: NationBuilder Discussion #976

I didn't see your reply here Sean, I apologize. We're considering putting a NationBuilder review and discussion on the agenda for the State Meeting. However, if you'd like to discuss NB, give me a call and we'll walk thru it live.

in reply to: The Current Agenda #992

I love the agena, in general.  Though I have suggestions on the timing, I'll hold those for now..  Two major suggestions: NationBuilder and Strategic Planning: It might be beneficial to begin the strategic planning session with a live demonstration of NationBuilder.  I've become familiar with the basics, and could show how it could directly impact fundraising and volunteer networks, two things we know it would help us with. What do you think about adding the NB demo at the beginning of the planning session?  This tool could be a powerful centerpiece for future growth.  It would be a big positive if everyone understood what it can do as we plan for the next 2-5 years. BernieOne piece I do not like, and would like removed, is discussion on the Bernie Sanders campaign.  There is no reason to take up state party time considering any particular candidate than one of ours!  If this is an issue, I'd rather discuss it verbally.  I move to strike it from the agenda.

in reply to: Proposal 006-15: Call for Nominations 2015 #1013

I'm not sure why this is being framed as a proposal..?  Calling for nominations is automatic, it requires no proposal.  Could we please clarify the intent?

in reply to: Proposal 007-15: Length of Co-Chair Term #1027

First, Harry, good call on that amendment!! I was concerned about that inconsistency.  My vote:  Stand aside (I've been out of town, but wanted to chime in with my stance.) My concern is that there has been no discussion about what we are giving up by lengthening the terms.  While a two year term would help with planning and consistency, we should note that by lengthening the terms, we are a) making it more difficult to change the course of our leadership, outside of recalling them which seems a little severe when you really would just like new chairs.  b) asking twice as much from potential candidates, with twice as much risk for our party (the party has had problems keeping people in the chair for a full term) Without that discussion I'm a little uncomfortable supporting the change.

in reply to: The Current Agenda #989

We'll want to have some time to discuss NationBuilder — a Q&A period would also be helpful.  Might be something to do toward the end of the meeting.

in reply to: Agenda items for the 2015 Annual Meeting! #983

Sounds great — but there are currently NO agenda items prepared, from what I can tell no work has been done to form an agenda.  I'm sure that if work were being done, I would be included, since I'm on the committee.  If work HAS been happening on the agenda, it should be posted to Committee Board where all members can view and the full committee can discuss. in reply to: Agenda items for the 2015 Annual Meeting! #981

Of course goals and strategies will be part of the meeting.  Discussions on candidates will also be appropriate, though that should be an ONGOING discussion, not one designated simply for the annual meeting.  I've heard some contention about the health care amendment.  Perhaps we should discuss that while we have all leaders present?

in reply to: 2015 Annual Meeting Committee!! — Who Wants In? #908

The committee board has been created, as well as a topic to assemble agenda items! Thanks for your patience, I've been patiently waiting for responses on stuff too.  Isn't it nice that we're having similar experiences?
