MemberI'd like to see some of our chapters do something this year.. but I've heard of no plans. I'll ask in the Council Discussion area and see if there are any plans made. Thanks for checking Brittany!

MemberSorry if any responses seem short. I have a lot of typing to do tonight and very limited time to clarify things that aren't time-sensitive. The annual meeting is not time-sensitive right now compared to other things that are happening with the Greens over the next week. (That's a separate post.)
Who is we? I personally like the Mercury Café, but am open to meeting anywhere.
State leadership, and general feedback from the last experience at the Cafe when we were overbooked. If we could find a more suitable venue, it would be ideal. Frankly I would like to see us on the Western Slope this time to visit the Southwest Greens.
On Feb 9 in private council discussion on planning for 2015-2016 you wrote, "Since this is an off-year, we don't have to hold our meeting in March; April or May would be better (May has been suggested as the best option)." What is the hold up?
I could go into detail on the "hold up" but lets just say we have limited staff and time. I wish you were more involved at the state level, Harry, and we probably wouldn't have this weird friction. I'm sorry for my part in any distance between us. We (the Executive Committee) have plans in the works to engage on a state level before the annual meeting. If you'd like to hear about them before their announced, give me a call.
Agreed. I thought drafting a proposal for discussion the GPCO Forum was the preferred way to 'reach out'. How SHOULD people reach out to GPCO?
This is the proper way (or better in the Private Council Discussion)... just thought it was weird that you had picked a venue and a date, when you hadn't conferred with anyone about what plans might already BE in the works (such as I have a feeling we should try the SW this time around). I'll put out the call for a Meeting Committee and get the ball rolling.

MemberHmmm.. there WAS a lot of parsed discussion. Shoddy facilitation on my part. 😀 I was noting the consensus for the amended proposal in support of HB15-1300 only, but there has also been a call to support the rally itself, or the $15/hr movement. Since this is my proposal, I'm willing amend it to support the $15 Minimum Wage movement AND in support of local control of minimum wage. I'll post a link to a new thread for final agreement. Thank you Andrea! I'll split off this topic and start a fresh vote.

MemberHi Harry! I appreciate your enthusiasm! Once we have discussed it, a proposal can be drafted. I see two problems here: the venue and the date. We need more time, and we do not want to use the Mercury Cafe. The proper approach is to get a committee together that presents a few dates, and perhaps venue options, to the council. I'm assuming you'd like to be part of the committee? The state leaders are aiming for the annual meeting later in the year. You may want to reach out to us to discuss some of this stuff before doing too much planning on your own.

MemberWe have brought someone on to handle Facilitation, Brittany Hoover. She came in as a volunteer recently and is finding her place helping the state party with outreach and other tasks! More details later!

MemberSorry I didn't mean any misrepresentation, I rewrote that response a couple time and then said screw it good enough! I meant no disrespect!

MemberAndrea, we need to discuss the specifics of NB on another thread. You're asking a complex question about something that isn't part of this proposal. Since NB is a very robust software that could replace pretty much everything we do. It must be implemented in stages. I will answer your queries in a new thread. Had I known you wanted to be involved in helping with it, I would have invited you! We need people who will to help integrate it into our workings. I'll start another thread and break down answers to your questions a I have them; they're good questions and addressing them might help the council understand the scope of NB and what it offers. If having NB setup is an deal breaker, we might want to have a discussion by phone about where your barometer is on it. I don't want NB to tie up events as we roll forward. Does that sound fair?

MemberI accept the amendment to include only support for House Bill 15-1300! ~~ I agree with this proposal in its amended format!

MemberHi Andrea! I had a feeling you might object. Also, your position would need to be defined as either "agree", "stand aside", or "block". Blocks are rare, in that they bring the whole discussion to a halt and begin a vote. If you have an objection, you might see how the discussion flows before casting a block. But as I'd like consensus, I'd like to allay your concerns as much as possible. 1. NB (NationBuilder) is just about up already. I'm thinking a soft launch within a week or so, at least utilizing simple aspects of the software (its very robust, could many things we use and were intending on using for communications). 2. Laura and I have been discussing plans for the booth, and the email thread outside of this forum indicated there was ample interest in helping to staff it. I'm certain we could find someone to coordinate it once we have the funding. Remember, we have two months. We have to submit this paperwork by the end of the month (preferably end of weekend). It would be nice to have full consensus on this, though, again, I understand your apprehension. ~~ I Agree with this proposal by the way! 😀

MemberHi everyone! How are the lists coming along? Have any of the chapters had success in calling their lists? Have you made contact, gotten email addresses, and asked about important issues?

MemberHmmm, yes I was looking closely.. bad news is that this happened on the first import, and I'm not sure why since that process was mostly automated. 🙁 I'll take a look and find out what happened!
