MemberYes, according to the bylaws the announcement must come 15 days prior: From 4.1: "Nominating conventions and meetings to elect state officers must be announced by the Secretary in a newspaper of statewide circulation 15 days before the meeting. "An ad should be appearing in the Statesman (as has been the custom) and I noticed an ad posted to Facebook, as well.

MemberWe are on for the Mercury Cafe, March 22nd, from 9am-3pm. Lunch from 11:30am-1pm would be appropriate. Although the details of the agenda still need to be determined, I would like to keep things very simple. We haven't had much happening at the state level since the last meeting, which was late in the year. That being said, let's keep this event focused on the potential candidates and updates from the state parties (Denver, Boulder). It might also be appropriate to renew our officers, since we may not have another opportunity until next year. The last half of the meeting (after lunch) we could devote to some free-form discussion. We will have our candidates and local leaders all together, we might get more traction out of a brief group worksession. Any thoughts?

MemberKevin, thank you for the historical reference. I agree with the need for time to review a candidate's qualifications. I see this extension as a specific proposal to allow this one time. All chapters would be aware, since they would be voting on the issue. Therefore we would still have time to look over their bios (I'm making sure I get them by March 1). Which means by the 22nd we would all know them and be able meet them in person and vote on them. I hope we would discuss each candidate here in private council discussion prior to the convention, so we all know where we stand before we get there. I want the convention to be as fun as possible, no surprises, just a good time for everyone there as we prepare for this election season! I will prepare a proposal this weekend.

MemberThank you everyone for your comments. I looks like this is a close vote here. The executive committee (co-chairs, treasurer, and secretary) met briefly via telephone this week to discuss the convention. The close vote reflects the committee's stand on this issue. We see the need to enable as many Green chapters as possible t make the annual and nominating conventions, but at the same time realize that holding them both at once limits the functionality of both. In summary, March 22 will be both an annual meeting and a nominating convention. In the long run, there are some changes that need to be made to increase party effectiveness and planning abilities. I'll post more about his later when I have time.

MemberOK, It looks like we're going to schedule this for the 22nd, pending getting the room reserved at the Mercury, which I will attend to tomorrow. There will be a follow-up thread with some details. Look for an email with a link to that discussion.

MemberThis is the agenda as it stands. We can discuss Nationbuilder during the goal-setting process. I don't think it would be appropriate to bring in an unscheduled member, but we can discuss it once we begin the meeting. Talk to you all soon! Major agenda itemsThe agenda will cover these four topics, ending with a discussion on our goals as a committee, particularly short-term goals. 1. sharing of web-related skills and backgrounds2. defining roles and responsibilities3. what is the purpose of the website? what roles does / should it serve?4. timeline / goals for six months5. final discussion, review of roles and responsibilities6. schedule next meeting Potential GoalsDetermine goals and address short-term goals first, to be completed within 1-6 months. Longer goals will be noted and addressed at the next meeting. Issues to address through goal-setting process: • smooth the posting / update process• better social network integration• change of template / format• blog post workflow/timelines• a "ticket" system in which we all share the duties of making updates to the site• SEO strategy, if any• how we can support the social media group

MemberWeedstock has been moved to this weekend, September 21 & 22 due to the flooding. Spread the word, volunteers will get free access and time to spend hanging out away from the booth! It's going to be a fun time, for sure! Have all volunteers contact me via email at billbartlett.gpco@gmail.com.

MemberMichelle Lamay would like to present her initiative to the state party, hopefully to gain our support in 2014. I would like to provide time for her to present her initiative formally, and perhaps we can vote on lending support. For more information about her initiative, please refer to this link: Prohibit Penalties for the Possession of Cannabishttp://www.relief4possession.webs.com/
