I don't see the “committee board” in the forum? What is its name?I've been waiting (patiently) since your post that started this thread on April 12.

I stopped reading at 10-1.7, which requires a candidate to raise money. I would vote NO.

AGREE.    Harry Hempy, Co-chair Greater Boulder GreensGreens from Boulder, Gilpin and Broomfield Counties canvassed for the Colorado Community Rights Amendment last year. Canvassing was suspended when Jared Polis started an inferior, but similar, local rights initiative and hired people to collect the signatures. You may remember that Polis then refused to submit the signatures to appease Gov Hickenlooper and the Colorado petroleum industry. Boo!

Its time to assemble the committee to pull together our Annual Meeting! At least three people is ideal for the committee, with two chairs and one Researcher/Organizer. . . . Once this committee is formed, you will be given a forum area to do your discussion and research so that Council can oversee the process.

Bill, I figure the Annual Meeting Committee is formed, consisting of Andrea, Fred, you, and me. Do you agree? It seems now is the time to create the GPCO Forum area for the committee. Is that something you would do?The most critical task for the committee is to set a date for the Annual Meeting, so we can publicly announce it 15 days in advance. If the meeting is on June 13, the announcement would have to be in the newspaper by May 29 (2 weeks from today), by which time we should have at least a skeleton agenda.Would anyone care to volunteer to write a draft of the meeting announcement?

This is a status update from the Strategic Planning Committee. We are meeting weekly and progressing at slow-to-moderate pace. Representation at meetings is typically from 3 to 5 chapters. Here is the current draft of the plan – a work in progress. This would be a good time to share the committee's work more broadly. -Harry[DRAFT – 5/14/2015]Green Party of ColoradoStrategic Plan for 2015-20162015-2016 Major Goals1.  Grow statewide Green registration by 25% from Jan. 1, 2015 to Dec. 31, 2016.Green Party registrations increased 6% from Feb. 2013 through Dec. 2013, 22% from Jan. 2014 through Dec. 2014, and 30% for the whole election cycle (Feb. 2013 through Dec. 2014).Feb. 2013 data was used because SOS registration data for Jan. 2013 is anomalous. 2.  Study, analyze, refine and support selected candidate campaigns in the 2016 general election. Andrea and Fred discussed Annual Meeting items Date: June 13  (suggested)Location: Andrea can reserve space at a library in Denver.Headcount: An estimate of the number of attendees from each chapter is needed to know what size room will be needed.   [Andrea will work with Bill to poll the chapters.]

Can we agree on June 13 as the date of the 2015 Annual Meeting?

Bob,  I've been thinking GPCO should create a legislative action committee to work on state issues. I would be willing to co-chair.

What Andrea and I were discussing was having a "Central Committee Meeting" -- bringing the council together in real-time to hash through an agenda of issues prior to the Annual Meeting.  This would also build up some much-needed cohesion.

The GPCO Strategic Planning Committee has been meeting weekly since April 2 on strategic party issues in preparation for the annual meeting. The committee has "cohesed" around two major GPCO goals; increasing Green registrations and supporting carefully-selected candidate campaigns.Future meetings will develop recommendations for action plans to actually meet our goals including, I suspect, council facilitation, communicating with registered Greens and other supporters, website currency, committee staffing, etc.If there is a desire to expand the discussion to the entire GPCO Council, I recommend expanding the Strategic Planning meetings (or at least one of the meetings) to the entire Council. Giving Council a preview of strategic recommendations for 2016-2016 and an opportunity to provide early feedback, is a good idea.See http://gpco.fullydefiant.com/forum/index.php?topic=224.0

I agree with keeping this topic focused on the annual meeting.I'm hesitant to start a thread on Virtual GPCO Council Meetings, myself, out of fear of not doing it right. But I would like to have monthly or quarterly Council meetings by conference call. Such calls would give needed support to our Executive Committee.Bill, Do you want to start a new topic for discussion of Virtual GPCO Council Meetings? Or maybe Brittany, as Council Facilitator?

I like the video conference option. I'm assuming the meeting would be in a physical location and people would call in if they can't be physically present.I question the assertion that people cannot be on a video conference all day long. But, anyway, I suggest keeping the decision-making parts of the meeting close together in the agenda so people who can only devote a couple hours to the meeting can join for motions and voting. We could do reports in the morning and, then, in the afternoon elect officers and vote on proposals and recommendations. This agenda was the stating point for the 2013 annual meeting, developed by Tanya Ishikawa. I have edited it slightly. Perhaps we could use this as a starting point for discussing the meeting agenda.Morning Session:1) Co-chair opens the meeting - 9 a.m.2) Local host gives a welcome and offers logistical information - 9:10 a.m.3) Credentialing of voting delegates and establishment of quorum - 9:20 a.m.4) Agenda review, changes and adoption - 9:30 a.m.5) Chapter introduction and reports/Unaffiliated Greens introductions - 9:35 a.m.6) Reports from state officers and committees - 10:20 a.m.    Co-chairs    Secretary    Treasurer    National delegates    Council Facilitator    Website    Fundraising    Strategic Planning 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. pm Lunch breakAfternoon Session:7 ) Election of state officers (2 co-chairs, 1 treasurer and 1 secretary), 2-3 national delegates, council facilitator - 1 p.m.8 ) Proposal for state restructuring for 2015-2016 and future structural needs - 1:40 p.m.9 ) Resolutions/Political Statements 2:40 p.m.10) Future Business - 3: 30 p.m.11) MEETING ADJOURNS - 4 p.m.
