MemberI agree with Bob's comments and I vote Agree on this proposal but I would also support an alternative proposal that included stronger language against Israel's continued building of settlements in the West Bank which blatantly violate negotiated peace treaties. As far as Gaza is concerned there is only one principle issue and that is the inhumane siege and blockade that has created the largest concentration camp history has ever seen. The missiles being fired from the Gaza strip are little more than a desperate and mostly noneffective response to Palestinian subjugation by Israel and a last ditch attempt to get the world (and US media) to pay attention to the inhumane conditions Israel has ruthlessly imposed on these people who's land and homes have been stolen from them. And Israel uses this as an excuse to slaughter and EXTERMINATE women and children in a manner not that different from what happened to the Jews in Nazi Germany. I have to keep from gagging when I hear Obama, Kerry, and all of the Israel lap dogs in our government say Israel has "the right to defend itself." This is obscene. We need a statement DEMANDING that the U.S. government end aid to the Israeli apartheid in Gaza and the West Bank and support a UN statement condemning Israel and a UN Security Council resolution to isolate and IMPOSE AN ECONOMIC BLOCKADE OF ISRAEL until they stop building new settlements and end the siege of Gaza. Have we already forgotten about the IDF murder of 10 unarmed people on the Mavi Marmara which was trying to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza in 2010? Inexcusable!Israel has absolutely no credibility on any level in this conflict and our "elected leaders" support Israel only in order to pander to AIPAC and solicit Jewish support for their reelection efforts and quite likely to also pander to the Christian fundamentalists who's only MO is to support Israel in their hope for an expedited second coming and subsequent rapture. Absolutely despicable!I would support a much stronger statement condemning Israel's actions in this conflict and let's not forget the Green Platform which supports Palestinian right of return.Kevin AlumbaughGreater Boulder Green Party

MemberI agree. I would also like to offer to be co-sponser if needed. Where are the religious institutions in this country that should all be denouncing this apartheid and slaughter?Kevin AlumbaughGreater Boulder Green Party

MemberTo address Steve's question the bylaws were amended at the 2007 state meeting in Carbondale. The criteria and time frames for nominating candidates were changed because of a character named Buddy Moore who claimed that he could run for office as a Green because of loopholes that existed in our state bylaws and related Colorado statutes even though the Adams/Jeffco chapter had voted not to endorse his candidacy as did Denver subsequently. He was a one-issue candidate for U.S. senate-911-and to the extreme. He had been rejected by the Dems and Republicans so we were his last ditch effort. Many Greens are involved in 911 Truth groups and the national platform is for a reinvestigation but Moore was so militant about this one issue that his candidacy risked tainting the GP as a one-issue party as he was planning a very aggressive campaign. We passed proposal 04-08 to officially and publicly declare that he was not a candidate of the GPCO because he was threatening to run as a Green independently. A lot of work went into these revisions and for good reason. If we change them for this election cycle I think we should consider changing them back afterwards as they do make sense in the interest of vetting candidates.Kevin AlumbaughGreater Boulder Green Party

MemberI agree that it is too difficult for many locals to attend one meeting let alone two. My recollection of nominating conventions is that the other business items are covered as quickly as possible during the morning session and the afternoon session is dedicate entirely to the vetting/Q&A of candidates, and nominating process. If there are other items that we can't cover in the morning session then maybe we could mop up afterwards via state council proposals.Kevin AlumbaughGreater Boulder Green Party

MemberI would also gladly co-sponsor. Thank you Tanya for putting this agenda together and I support its approval. I urge all chapter co chairs to solicit volunteers to fill the state officer positions that are being vacated. Many worthy individuals have stepped up in the past to fill these positions and many have served well beyond the time that they originally intended just to ensure that the GPCO continued to function. The GPCO needs new members to step up who are willing to serve and carry on our tradition of volunteerism that has enabled our party to exist to this point. If you are a dedicated Green new to the party or a vet who hasn't served on the state level and you appreciate the legacy of a vital third party with ballot access that has been handed down to you please consider volunteering and doing your part to keep the GPCO strong and viable into the future.Kevin AlumbaughGreater Boulder GreenParty

MemberI agree. We should create a merchandise page for the website as well. I have a handful of hats and t-shirts from the last batch of merchandise that I donated. Jonsey, Tanya, and I were working on a new t-shirt logo a while back that I will submit to the committee.Kevin AlumbaughGreater Boulder Green Party

MemberHey everyone, I was wondering about this year's state meeting and finally checked the forum. Got to get into the habit.I can help out also in a "limited time" capacity but it would be good to get a date chosen. I can do any of the dates Tanya mentioned except maybe not August 31st. This is one of the dates we might reschedule our event at the Nomad Theater. We got bumped as the lady who books the Nomad double-booked for June 15th. I went to the working committee page but couldn't see how to reply. Kevin Alumbaugh
