MemberThanks, Bill! Would be good to have last names when calling. My last name, not a problem. I noticed it checking out some other Denver Greens. 🙂

MemberBill – just looking through Denver's list. Looks like all last names are truncated to only 5 characters. Can you check on that please? Thanks!!

MemberGood news! Are they ready to go? Thanks, Bill!

MemberLooks good – time to get it started. Also – the link for the chapters is going to the state site and the information on that page is seriously out of date. Denver hasn't met at the Mercury Cafe for over a year. We meet 3rd Wednesday at Blair-Caldwell Library, 2401 Welton St, Denver, 6:00pm. I would prefer the link on your newsletter for Denver go to our web site, not state's… http://denvergreenparty.org/ You also don't have Douglas County listed or Southwest. I don't think we want to limit this to front range. Also, you said this would be posted – state site? Emailed as well?

MemberCheck out Naomi Wolf on FB. She has provided a lot of information as she has asked many questions and shared with her FB friends. Very intelligent and well worth following if you're interested in this issue. She's an author, an activist, Jewish and lives in New York. https://www.facebook.com/naomi.wolf.author

MemberI just read National's statement and they have links to various peace groups, as well as info from Desmond Tutu. I think this is well balanced and drives to the main point of stopping the killing now – both sides. If people on this blog haven't read the statement yet, here's a link.http://www.gp.org/newsroom/press-releases/details/4/721

MemberI see this more as a political and ethnic issue than a religious one. Israel has, through various means, taken more and more Palestinian land, destroyed their homes and their farms. There are certainly religious issues especially with Al-Aqsa Mosque and Temple Mount. But I think there is more to it than just religion. Israel wants to take over as much land as possible in a way that will prevent Palestinians from every being able to reclaim their land, homes, cities and lives. What are all the reasons? Not sure, but power and control have to be a big part of it.To me what is important is that all violence stop and humanitarian aid be provided where it's needed. Can we focus on the what and less on the why?

MemberI support amending bylaws to support nominating process. I believe we also discussed at last year's meeting to amend the bylaws to enable us to make notification via electronic media, not limited to newspaper. Statewide electronic media I believe should/would include GPOC web, facebook, forum, and colorado greens email.
