I will also express my support for Bernie Sanders.  I have been hoping for decades (more than I'll admit) that the Dems would pick a candidate like Bernie.  To abandon him now seems does not seem right.  Yes – burdened by the Dem Party, but he is clearly cur from a different cloth.  Yes, his politics are not perfect, but who is (other than me, since I agree with all my positions).  I would like to see Jill do all she can for the Greens, and then before the election ask her supporters to vote for Bernie, unless, of course, she is leading, in which case we ask Bernie to do the same for the Greens.  I would also like to see the Greens reach out to Bernie and make this offer and ask that he work toward IRV.I would like to see more emphasis on the most basic underlying issues, such as money supply (the creation of money out of thin air by essentially private individuals and bank owners), and global warming.More Green candidates, of course, would be great.  Michael HaugheyAJ Greens

I agree.  This is a very good effort and deserves our support.Michael HaugheyAJ Greens

in reply to: Proposal 007-15: Length of Co-Chair Term #1029

I prefer to leave the term as one year.  We can easily extend the term of an officer annually.  If an officer is not performing then we need the option to make a change annually.  I agree with the post about what we are giving up.  I think we can have all the benefits under the current one year term.Michael HaugheyAJ Greens

in reply to: Proposal 006-15: Call for Nominations 2015 #1019

I am OK with H1, H2, and H4.  H3 I believe should stay at 6 months.  It gives Colorado Greens time to get to know the nominator.  Otherwise we are more vulnerable to infiltrators.  I am OK with nominations being made at the state meeting/convention as has been done in the past.  There is no need to rush through a proposal with a compromise just for this one meeting.Michael HaugheyAJ Greens

in reply to: Proposal 002-15: Supporting the 2015 Minimum Wage Movement #875

Agree with local ability to raise the minimum wage.  Oppose $12.25 in 2020 as a living wage.  I would support $15 in 2015 as a living wage proposal IF it is indexed to real inflation.Michael HaugheyAJ Greens

in reply to: Proposal 001-15: Funding the 2015 People’s Fair #862

AgreeMichael Haughey - AJ GreensAlso agree to moving NationBuilder discussion to another post.Point of information - volunteers will not necessarily come here as only council members have access.  At our last AJ Greens meeting we discussed this and we have a number of members willing to sign-up (just need a place to sign up - is there a list somewhere?).  We are also planning to develop a short flyer to help with materials.

in reply to: Green Party – Possible Spring 2015 Events #845

I’ve tabled at the People’s Fair and depending on location we generally have some interested people stop by.  It would help to have more materials to show and hand out.  I think that is where we could make improvement over recent previous years.  Both does sound expensive.  Can we put the state funds into perspective with some kind of annual budget?Michael HaugheyAJ Greens

in reply to: Too many chiefs! (Bill’s Gripe) #818

in reply to: Strategic Planning for 2015 #810

I'll check to see if we have an eager Adams-JeffCo volunteer for the committee. Weather can be interesting any of those months, although travel impedance more likely in March.Michael HaugheyAJ Greens
